A very high percentage of construction defect claims stem from water intrusion through the building envelope, personal injury, and substandard building performance. Outside the arena of legal claims, well-performing building assemblies reach the end of their life cycle and need to be refreshed or replaced. Clients call on our experience and background in building envelope assessment and design, codes and standards, construct-ability assessment, material properties, and environmental dynamics to pinpoint cause and propose options for resolution.
We offer Diagnostic services to a dynamic group of clients including attorneys, owners, architects, and facility managers.
Over 90% of our projects are remodels and retrofits of a built condition ranging from mid-rise urban buildings to delicate rural landscapes. Many unique challenges are presented as we work to preserve where feasible and restore where necessary. Our work on older, and sometimes historic, buildings offers the greatest sense of accomplishment as these projects bring heightened pride to the communities in which they sit. Our specialized approach results in a profound understanding of aesthetics, as-built and desired quality, program, logistics, and value. We provide our clients with comfort and peace of mind with evident performance, refined detailing, and personal attention to the process from concept to completion.
We offer Architectural services to owners and facility managers including early design, construction documents, and construction contract administration.
Modern buildings are a complex collection of components that must work in harmony. Where adjacencies and attachments are unprecedented, mock-ups, testing, and virtual modeling are often necessary to provide appropriate quality assurance and basis for quality control. We layer creativity with our experience in Diagnostics and Architecture to provide inventive solutions to complex detailing problems.
We offer Design and Construction Consulting services to architects, engineers, and builders who face challenges that require specialized solutions.
When remodeling or reviving a building, the sum of the parts exceeds the whole. These projects are inherently more complex than new construction because the characteristics of the existing condition are never 100% ideal. Logistics, politics, and raw human emotion are just a few of the challenges presented to the project team. We invite and encourage each stake holder to collaborate and work toward a common goal and mutual success.
We offer Project Management services throughout the design and construction process to owners and facility managers.
